I’m Breaking Protocol, So Don’t Call Me “Miss”

Talyn here!

I want to let you know that I’m going to be communicating with you a little differently from now on. No gimmicks, no faceless company spiel, or anonymous boring newsletters. I hate them so why would I expect you to like them any better?

We talk a lot about building effective relationships based on trust, so let’s start with us. I’ve been working hard in the shadows for some years now but I’ve been coaxed by my team and many of you to come out and be more visible.

As much as this makes me cringe, I’ve listened and I’m here now in the form of books, podcasts, videos so that you are actively engaged in your own self-development built around the murky and so-called highly elite field of diplomacy. I believe that everyone is a diplomat the moment you share your national origins with another. I talk more about it in my first video series (I know – this was a little nerve wrecking for me!)

…while I promise to be more visible, I want something from you. I want to hear from you, share your comments and opinions with me. What do you want to hear from me? What burning issues are on your mind? What do you want to know about diplomacy and diplomatic leadership that you aren’t clear about? Come on, challenge me!

Go on the website and leave your comments. I will pick the best ones and air it on the podcast or in these newsletters. What a great way to engage!

At the end of the day, I want to create strong leaders who are lionesses in the field. We rule, we innovate, and we attract people who challenge us just as much as we challenge them. We shouldn’t be afraid to be different and unique, just don’t end up being complacent in your job and life.

What’s more, we will start to write HOW-TO guides on various elements of diplomatic leadership. I won’t be discussing politics, theories or intellectual rhetoric. I’m interested in self-development and productive which you know if you heard my last podcast, and I hope you are too.

I can’t wait to hear from you.

To you,

Talyn Rahman-Figueroa
